Content: Take a fresh look at your web site as if you were a first time visitor. Put together a list of adjustments you need to make and get them done. If you don’t currently have the ability to make changes to your web site, explore options which allow you to do so. BĒM Interactive has several options for you to consider. Having a good content management system in place will facilitate keeping your site up to date and save maintenance dollars.
   
Google Analytics: Review your Google Analytics web statistics and identify the content pages that have the highest bounce rate (see this post on our blog for more details on bounce rates). Revise these pages and work toward decreasing the bounce rate. If you are not using Google Analytics, get it installed and begin using it. Brand Consistency: Have you made changes to your brand recently? Review your site to make sure your brand is carried through consistently from your traditional marketing material.
   
Social Media Marketing: If you haven’t started implementing your social media strategy, you should. Even the most modest strategy is a great start. Social media isn’t a fad and it’s not going away. Domains & Email Accounts: Many companies have multiple domain names reserved, but sometimes lose track of when they all renew. Check when domains expire and confirm that each is reserved for at least 3 years out. Get them all with the same expiration date. Review email accounts associated with your domain/s and confirm they should all still be active. Audit your alias and forward email accounts to ensure they are going to the right person and not redirecting to a dead email address.
   
Contact Forms: Review your web site contact forms. Confirm that it asks for the most relevant information and only requires a few select fields. The confirmation or thank you page should give an estimate of when the prospect will hear back from your organization. Be sure to direct prospects to select key pages on your site. Also confirm that the results of these forms are going to the right people in your organization.
   
Email Marketing: Look at the statistics associated with your email marketing campaigns. Confirm your trends are good and are they in line with industry averages. Click here to sign up for our 2 hour Email Marketing event scheduled for February 19th.
   
Ecommerce Product Merchandising: Review your product titles, short and long descriptions and other product related information to ensure you merchandise is described and positioned properly. Take a critical look at your product photos too. Great photos of your products make or break the success of your web site.
   
PCI Compliance: Web sites that take credit card and secure information should confirm they are PCI compliant. For more information on PCI compliance, click here.
